PolyView Beta setup program. After the download run the pvbeta.exe program to install the beta version of PolyView 4.00.

The PolyView 4.00 beta series is offered as an opportunity for you to preview the new features of PolyView as they are added, and to insure that the changes are given widespread testing prior to the final release. In many cases the changes in this new version are significant and cause unforeseen problems that are not uncovered in our in-house testing. Please report any problem you find with the beta versions to Polybytes and provide as much detail as you can. We are particularly interested in the specific beta version you are using, what operation PolyView was performing at the time the problem was observed, and how the problem manifested itself.

Added Redo support.

Added auto-rotation based upon the orientation information embedded in an image's EXIF record. See the Do EXIF Rotation option on the General tab of Properties for more information.

Added fixed ratio and fixed size frame buttons to the selections available for toolbar customization.

Improved the behavior when zooming into large images to better make use of the available screen area. (Beta 3)

Added the Rotate Tool to the Tools menu for an open image. The Rotate Tool provides a method of quickly rotating an image by drawing a line on the image that is to represent a horizontal line after rotation. (Beta 5)

The Associate ICC Profile command on the Edit menu now always returns to the last folder visited by a previous use of the command. (Beta 5)

Gamma handling has been redone in this release to be more compatible with previous versions of PolyView. (Beta 6)

Images in thumbnail albums that reference a "missing" file are now displayed as an empty block. A Rename operation can then be used to correct the name or location of the file. (Beta 7)

Added the Resize window during zoom option to control the way window resizing is done when zooming images. (Beta 8)

The Rotate Tool now requires a rotation line of at least 25 pixel in length before performing a rotation. (Beta 8)

Display gamma compensation is now applied to the display of thumbnails when Apply to all but open images or Always apply gamma is selected. (Beta 8)

Added support for Medium resolution Foveon X3F (Sigma SD9/10) images. (Beta 10)

The Auto Contrast and Auto Level commands now use the current selection area to perform their color and intensity analysis, with the resulting balancing operation applied to the entire image. (Beta 12)

Fixed a problem with the Undo Policy not being set properly on a new image window created from an operation on an image. (Beta 2)

Fixed a problem with the Color – operation greatly increasing color saturation instead of reducing it. (Beta 2)

Fixed a error that occurred with the Smooth To New Window command when the AverageColors Resample Method was chosen. (Beta 2)
